TESTO Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) is used for in vitro quantitative detection of the Testosterone (TESTO) concentration in human serum and plasma that contains heparin /EDTA and other anticoagulants samples, mainly used for auxiliary diagnosis of reproductive hormones diseases.
Application
Testosterone is one of the major sex hormones produced by the body, present in both men and women. In men, it is primarily produced by the Leydig cells of the testes, while in women, the ovaries and placenta are the main sources of testosterone production. The adrenal cortex also secretes testosterone in both sexes.
Testosterone has a well-established and important role in the development of secondary sexual characteristics in men, such as increased muscle mass, bone mass, and body hair growth. However, it is also of particular interest in the study of socio-emotional and economic behavior, as testosterone influences the brain in archetypical situations, such as fight-or-flight responses, mating behaviors, and the search and struggle for social status.
The diverse physiological and behavioral effects of testosterone highlight its fundamental role in regulating both reproductive and social-cognitive functions in humans.
