Ferritin Quantitative Test

Ferritin Rapid Quantitative Test

Ferr is a universal intracellular protein that stores iron and releases it in a controlled fashion. The protein is produced by almost all living organisms, including algae, bacteria, higher plants, and animals. In humans, it acts as a buffer against iron deficiency and iron overload. Ferritin is found in most tissues as a cytosolic protein, but small amounts are secreted into the serum functioning as an iron carrier. Plasma ferritin is also an indirect marker of the total amount of iron stored in the body. Hence serum ferritin is used as a diagnostic test for iron-deficiency anemia.

Clinical Significance

Low levels of iron can cause heart failure (when your heart doesn’t pump blood to your body as well as it should). It can also cause these symptoms:
1. Chest pain
2. Leg pain
3. Ringing in the ears, or tinnitus

A ferritin blood test can also help your doctor figure out whether your body is storing too much iron. High levels may point to alcohol abuse, infection, liver disease, rheumatoid arthritis, overactive thyroid, or some types of cancer.
Symptoms of high iron levels vary and can include:
1. Exhaustion
2. Heart problems
3. Joint pain
4. Low sex drive
5. Loss of body hair
6. Stomach pain
7. Weight loss
8. Abdominal pain
9. Lack of energy

Intent Use

Knowing whether you have too much ferritin in your blood or not enough can give your doctor clues about your overall iron levels. The more ferritin in your blood, the more stored iron your body has.

25(OH)-D Rapid Quantitative Test
25(OH)-D is a prehormone that is produced in the liver by hydroxylation of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) by the enzyme cholecalciferol 25-hydroxylase. Physicians worldwide measure this metabolite to determine a patient's vitamin D status.
Biotime Total IgE Rapid Quantitative Test
Total IgE Rapid Quantitative Test
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is a type of antibody (or immunoglobulin (Ig)"isotype") that has only been found in mammals. IgE is synthesised by plasma cells. IgE's main function is immunity to parasites such as helminths like Schistosoma mansoni, Trichinella spiralis, and Fasciola hepatica. Total IgE is utilized during immune defense against certain protozoan parasites such as Plasmodium falciparum. Total IgE may have evolved as a last line of defense to protect against venoms.

SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Qualitative Test
The SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Qualitative Test is a colloidal gold immunochromatography intended for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid antigens from SARS-CoV-2 in human nasal swabs, throat swabs, and sputum from individuals who are suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider. within the first five days of the onset of symptoms.

IL-6 Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay)
IL-6 Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) is used for in vitro quantitative detection of the Interleukin-6 (IL-6) concentration in human serum, plasma that contains heparin /EDTA and other anticoagulants and venous whole blood samples, mainly used for auxiliary diagnosis of inflammation diseases.
biotime CEA Rapid Quantitative Test
CEA Rapid Quantitative Test
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a protein normally found in very low levels in the blood of adults. The CEA blood level may be increased in certain types of cancer and non-cancerous (benign) conditions. A CEA test is most commonly used for colorectal cancer.
biotime NGAL Rapid Quantitative Test
NGAL Rapid Quantitative Test
NGAL (neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin, lipocalin-2, sidero- calin) is a novel biomarker for diagnosing acute kidney injury (AKI). Under normal conditions NGAL levels are low in urine and plasma Still, they rise sharply from basal levels in response to kidney injury to reach diagnostic levels within a very short time - as much as 24 hours or more before any significant rise in serum creatinine.
biotime PGI PGII Rapid Quantitative Test
PGI/PGII Rapid Quantitative Test
Human pepsinogens I (PGI) and II (PGII) are proenzymes of pepsin—an endoproteinase of gastric juice. PGI is secreted mainly by chief cells in the fundic mucosa, whereas PGII is also secreted by the pyloric glands and the proximal duodenal mucosa. Serum PGI and PGII concentrations and the ratio between PGI and PGII may be related to the histologic and functional status of the gastric mucosa.
Biotime HCY Rapid Quantitative Test
HCY Rapid Quantitative Test
Homocysteine, often shortened to HCY, is a thiol containing amino acid produced by the intracellular demethylation of methionine. Excess HCY in the bloodstream may cause injuries to arterial vessels due to its irritant nature and result in inflammation and plaque formation, which may eventually cause a blockage of blood flow to the heart.
