Ferritin Quantitative Test

INS Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay)

INS Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) is used for in vitro quantitative detection of the Insulin (INS) concentration in human serum, plasma that contains heparin /EDTA and other anticoagulants samples, mainly used for auxiliary diagnosis of diabetes diseases.

Product Detail

Application

Insulin is a peptide hormone produced by the beta cells of the pancreatic islets, and it is considered the primary anabolic hormone in the body. Insulin regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins by promoting the absorption of glucose from the blood into liver, fat, and skeletal muscle cells.

In these tissues, the absorbed glucose is then converted into either glycogen via glycogenesis or fats (triglycerides) via lipogenesis. In the case of the liver, the glucose can be converted into both glycogen and fats.

High concentrations of insulin in the blood strongly inhibit glucose production and secretion by the liver. Circulating insulin also affects the synthesis of proteins in a wide variety of tissues. As an anabolic hormone, insulin promotes the conversion of small molecules in the blood into larger molecules inside the cells.

Conversely, low insulin levels in the blood have the opposite effect, promoting widespread catabolism, especially the breakdown of reserve body fat. This catabolic state is often associated with insulin deficiency, as seen in conditions like diabetes mellitus.

In summary, insulin is a crucial hormone that plays a central role in regulating the body's metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Its actions promote the storage and utilization of these macronutrients, making it essential for maintaining homeostasis and supporting various physiological processes in the body.
