FT3 Rapid Quantitative Test (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) is used for in vitro quantitative detection of the Free triiodothyronine 3 (FT3) concentration in human serum, plasma that contains heparin /EDTA and other anticoagulants and venous whole blood samples, mainly used for auxiliary diagnosis of thyroid diseases.
Application
The results of free T3 (FT3) measurement are important indicators for the routine clinical assessment of thyroid function, and serve as a crucial basis for the differential diagnosis of thyroid diseases. The level of FT3 in the body is directly related to the secretion and metabolism of the thyroid hormone T3.
In patients with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, changes in FT3 levels are generally consistent with the corresponding changes in total T3 levels. However, when the levels of T3-binding proteins fluctuate and cause alterations in total T3, the determination of FT3 becomes particularly important. In such cases, the measurement of FT3 can provide a more accurate reflection of the thyroid's functional status.
Therefore, the determination of FT3 levels in the blood can be used as an aid in the diagnosis of thyroid diseases, as well as for monitoring the therapeutic effects in related patients. By assessing FT3, clinicians can gain valuable insights into the underlying thyroid hormone dynamics, which is crucial for the effective management of various thyroid disorders.
